REGISTERING TO VOTE
You will need to be:
  • At least 18 years old by the date of the next election
  • A citizen of the United States
  • A resident of Michigan
  • A resident of the city 30 days prior to the election
  • The last day to register in any manner other than in person with the local clerk is Monday, October 24, 2022.
  • If registering to vote more than 15 days before the election, you may register at any SOS Branch Office or the Clerk's Office
  • If registering to vote less than 15 days before the election up to and including election day, you may register to vote, in person, at the Clerk's Office; and if wanting to vote at the current election, ideally, bring your State of Michigan Photo ID with your current address with you, or alternatively, you may bring a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government documents that show your current address.  If you come to register to vote and don't have any of these items, you won't be allowed to vote in the upcoming election but will in future elections.
You may register to vote at:
  • All Secretary of State Offices
  • The Clerk's office in City Hall
  • Military Recruitment Centers
  • Complete the online form and mail it to your local Clerk's office
