Downtown Development Authority
The Fremont Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is an appointed, twelve member board. Board members serve four year terms. The DDA’s purpose is to prevent deterioration and promote economic growth within a business district by developing, adopting and implementing plans for new and re-development. Meetings of the DDA are held on an as-needed basis on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 8:00 AM at the Fremont City Hall. Individuals with experience in any of the following areas may be perfect candidates for the DDA: New Business Development, Business Recruitment and Retention, Marketing and Promotion, Real Estate Development or Banking/Finance. Fremont Community Joint Planning Commission
The Fremont Community Joint Planning Commission (FCJPC) is a 13 member board consisting of citizens from the City of Fremont (5), Dayton Township (4), and Sheridan Charter Township (3). The FCJPC acts as an advisory group to the governing bodies on issues and policies related to planning and land use regulation. Some of the specific responsibilities of the Planning Commission include: development and implementation of the Master Plan, recommendation of ordinances, amendments to existing ordinances, zoning changes and site plan review. Planning Commission members serve for a term of three years. Meeting of the FCJPC are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Fremont City Hall. Individuals with experience in any of the following areas may be perfect candidates for the FCJPC: Land Use Planning, Building Construction, Architecture, Civil Engineering or Real Estate Development, but not limited to. Fremont Community Joint Zoning Board of Appeals
The Fremont Community Joint Zoning Board of Appeals (FCJZBA) is a 9 member board consisting of citizens from the City of Fremont (3), Dayton Township (3), and Sheridan Charter Township (3). The Zoning Board of Appeals exercises three basic roles or functions: interpreting the Zoning Ordinance (both text and map), deciding appeals from administrative decisions, and reviewing variance requests. Members of the FCJZBA serve 3 year terms. Meetings of the FCJZBA are held on an as-needed basis on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Fremont City Hall. Individuals with experience in any of the following areas may be perfect candidates for the FCJZBA: Architecture, Building Construction, Engineering, Land Use Planning, Real Estate, or Law, but not limited to. Fremont Community Recreation Authority
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was formed in 2000 and met regularly till 2012. In 2013, the Fremont Community Recreation Authority was formed as a collective effort to run the Fremont Community Recreational Programming and Enrichment and potentially own and operate the former high school as a recreation center.
